July is Adopt a Rabbit Month!

  • Mobile Adoptions - TBD:  Come on out and meet adoptable cats and dogs in your community!  Many animals are ready to go home the same day if you find your purrfect match.  To see where we’ll be, check our schedule for a list of dates and locations.
  • Positively Pitties - July 6 to August 10:  Positively Pitties is a Pit Bull Terrier education program that includes six weeks of information and manners training.  For more information, click here.
  • Dane County Fair - July 15-19:  The Dane County Fair educates, entertains, showcases, and celebrates the achievements of local organizations.  DCHS will be there with general shelter information, products, activities, and adoptable animals!
  • Poker for Pets - July 25:  Dane County Humane Society's very first No Limit Hold 'em tournament held at Scatz in Middleton.  For more information, click here.
  • Baby-Ready Pets - July 30:  Attend this program to learn how to prepare your pets and yourself for the new changes your baby will make in the household dynamic.  For more information, click here.

August is Adopt a Homeless Pet Month!

  • National Night Out - August 4National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.  For more information, click here.
  • Catapalooza - August 14 & 15:  Join us for our annual celebration of cats, Catapalooza, at the main shelter on Voges Road.  Stay tuned for more information!

National Dog Week is September 28 - October 4!

  • Dog Jog - TBD:  Dog Jog is a two-mile run/walk on the beautiful UW campus.  Hundreds of canine paws and wagging tails will join their owners in raising money to benefit area humane organizations, including DCHS!  For more information, click here.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!

  • Brick-nic - October 4:  We invite you and your friends for a picnic in celebration of the next install of our Path of Love and Hope.  To purchase a brick for the path, click here.  Stay tuned for more information!
  • Dogtoberfest - October 10:  Join us for our annual celebration of dogs, Dogtoberfest, at Capital Brewery in Middleton.  Stay tuned for more information!
  • DART - October 23-25:  This 3-day course is designed to familiarize participants with disaster situations and provide the background necessary to become an effective emergency animal relief responder.  For more information, click here.

Feline Friends Fund

The Feline Friends Fund provides lifesaving donations directly to the homeless cats at Dane County Humane Society. Help support our efforts to make a difference in the lives of the thousands of cats that come through our doors. Contributions to the Feline Friends Fund support cat adoption programs, spay and neuter surgeries to help reduce chronic overpopulation, as well as outreach and educational efforts to make our community a safer, kinder place for cats.
