At Dane County Humane Society, we do our best not only to provide special care and attention to homeless animals in need, but also to find happy homes where they can find comfort with a forever family.
From time to time, we do get cats that have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) or have tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). Though both of these diseases are incurable, supportive care can lead to a good quality of life. These diseases are contagious to other cats, though, so infected cats should be kept isolated from healthy cats. For more information on these diseases, please check out our Cat Care link at http://www.giveshelter.org/sitemgr/cat_care.
Are you looking for a feline friend that is extra special? Consider giving a FIV or FeLV positive cat a chance at happiness. If you are interested in adopting one of these friendly felines, please contact us to get on our interest list. When a special cat comes along, we will notify you when they become available. Please contact Kate at (608) 838-0413 ext. 102 or katek@giveshelter.org and help our feline friends today!
