Positively Pitties!

Positively Pitties

A Pit Bull Terrier Education Program

Pit bull terriers can make one of the most delightful, intelligent and gentle pets possible. They are known to be extremely loyal, deeply devoted, affectionate, intelligent, and good natured. You will never be without a lap dog or a “wiggle-butt” if you bring this wonderful dog into your home! Owning one of these delightful dogs also comes with a lot of responsibility. Like any breed, this dog has certain care requirements, such as exercise and allergies. Owners of this incredible breed also have the responsibility of defending the good name of the pit bull terrier. You can learn how to do all of this through DCHS’s Positively Pitties program!

Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) now offers Positively Pitties, a workshop that aims to educate owners on everything pittie related and provide training for pit bull terrier breeds. It is our hope that this workshop will provide participants with a better understanding of pit bull terriers and the necessary tools to be responsible advocates for them. Positively Pitties is a six-week workshop offered Monday evenings at DCHS. The workshop includes education for people and basic manners training for your pups! Pit bull terrier owners can enjoy the entire workshop FREE when they adopt any pit bull terrier from DCHS!

Workshop Schedule

Positively Pitties is a six week session held Monday evenings at Dane County Humane Society. Workshops include education and manners. Week one is introduction and manners only - please leave your dogs at home! Please complete and mail the registration form to register for a workshop.

Businesses That Support Us

DVM Pharmaceuticals generously funds the Dermatophyte Monitoring and Treatment Program, a partnership between Dane County Humane Society and the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine Shelter Medicine Dermatology Project.  Their generous donation has allowed us to screen all cats at admission for ringworm thus protecting the staff, animals, and public who come to the shelter.  DVM Pharmaceuticals also funded our Ringworm Treatment Facility for 2005.  We also thank DVM Pharmaceuticals for their generous donations of LymDyp that makes treatment possible for so many cats.
