Dogs of all shapes and sizes are getting ready for the 2008 Dog Jog race and walk presented by the UW School of Veterinary Medicine. You can, too! Visit the Dog Jog website at www.dogjog.org to get information on registration, donations, and more. Your participation raises funding and support for the homeless animals of Dane County!
Save the date! DCHS is once again holding our annual fall Dogtoberfest celebration at Capital Brewery. In addition to a fun day full of games, contests, auctions, raffles, live entertainment, and of course, dogs and the people who love them (and did we mention the great beer?!)... all proceeds go directly to the homeless animals in our care.

Maddie’s Fund awarded Dane County Humane Society a first year grant of $297,000 in August, 2008 to increase adoptions and spay/neuter surgeries. As adoption and spay/neuter goals are achieved, Maddie's Fund will provide animal welfare groups and private veterinarians with more than $900,000 to save all of the healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats in Dane County over the next five years. Losing a pet can be unexpected and stressful, but microchipping is a solution to ensure happy reunions. DCHS is pleased to announce that microchipping services will now be available at the shelter during all open hours! The cost is $30 for dogs and only $15 for cats. Click  Brennan 07May07.jpg)
